Ms. Kent's musical journey began with her sojourn as a student at New York's Sarah Lawrence College. Her study of comparative literature sent her to Europe to study French, Italian, and German. It was in Oxford that Ms. Kent met saxophonist, Jim Tomlinson. Their shared passion for music led them to pursue a career in jazz together. Ms. Kent studied at the Guildhall School of Music for a year, then entered London's jazz scene with her new husband, Mr. Tomlinson. Ms. Kent's demo tape won her a role in Ian McKellen's "Richard II," a recording contract, national airplay, and endorsement from Britain's most respected jazz broadcaster.

Her most recent album, "In Love Again," celebrates the immortal music of Richard Rodgers and was launched with a sold out performance at the Souhtbank's Queen Elizabeth Hall in London.This is followed by "The Boy Next Door" in 2003,to critical acclaim even before the official release.
